Re: Your wiki

Robert, I fixed the recent changes page as you requested. If you want, you can sign in by clicking on "log in" at the bottom of the screen.

Hey John these are just recommendations. I don't want to sound like I have taken over the place and I am the boss! Don't do anything just to please me. Do it if it pleases you. That's rule #1 of a good collaboration. This is your wiki. You choose what you like! Not what I like!

No problem! I love having comments on this site. And don't let me intimidate you, or shout you down either.

No you sound very polite... so far! :-)

Even if I disagree with you, I'll still keep your suggestion in mind, perhaps for a future redesign.

Thanks! I appreciate your very kind attitude!

I like your wiki a lot. Great design, great interface! You are actually the first wiki that has a preview function that works!

I like the size of the edit screen and the fact that it is very well centered.

Unlike all wikis you have a one-line system. If we write on the next line in the edit it will appear as such in the final form. Great idea!

You do have a division system. I see a fw when I am on edit. Great idea this division system!

I'm guessing it's not very clear how to use it, though. If you have any suggestions on why it's hard to use, I'm all ears. Do I just need to write better instructions?

Doesn't your history file get a little too big? I don't think it could handle a homepage like mine in C2. 900 versions. I had 1200 versions until someone deleted my page. So altogether: 2100 versions in 7 months!

I agree. The page won't scale. I have a fix in mind, I just haven't gotten around to implementing it.

You son of a gun you are 21 and you already program great stuff like that! What will it be at 50!!!!!

Now about your wiki:

No reason, I just thought it looked nice. (If you bookmark the site, the site icon has a V with a tilde on top. See /files/images/viatasso.ico.)

It looks terrible! We ask what is this (whatever it's called) doing here! :-)

Then I'd have to remove the tilde, and that would make me sad... Okay, I'll try that and see how it looks.

Take out this tilde. It looks terrible! :-)

Now you've hurt my feelings! (Just kidding.) What, the tilde next to the page title, or the one on that icon? ...To think, that a single piece of punctuation could inspire such an extreme reaction! <grin>

Well, since I wrote this for my personal use, I figured I'd have the syntax just how I like it. Which is, writing the page should be like writing an e-mail. Anyways, it's too late now.

I shrunk it a bit. Better?

That reminds me of the song: "That's the Way I Like It". Great tune! KC and the Sunshine Band.

I added a line to the instructions below. Tell me if it's still confusing to use; I want this place to be easy to use, and obviously I'm not a good judge of that since I'm the one who wrote the code!

I'll try to incorporate these instructions into the instructions listed below. I don't think I've documented that last rule yet.

Point taken. Let me think about this.

If you create a page with the URL fw-project, the default title is "Fw project". But you can change that to "FW Project" before you save.

This is all very minor stuff, no big deal
