Hi John,

There is a message for you at the DOW

How is your editable page concept coming along? I have tried your formatting. It works pretty well. It's coming along pretty well! Bravo. Still no save button?

You have completed the highlighting function and it's not a half-ass job! Great! You even have a preferences module! Wonderful!

Perhaps use "click on on" and "click on off" instead of able and disable.

The last sentence should read:

"Click on off if you want to see each and every change made to the page for every revision (the consecutive changes made by the same won't be combined}

Hope this helps!

PS: While you are at it can you like freeze the edit box on one screen? It's very hard to operate now.

OK I have signed-in.

Hi Big John,

Can you show me how to put a go to in a pull-down menu?

Here is a pull down menu. I want to click on the go to function and have to go to capture box appear.

<select size='1' name='menu0' onchange='if(this.selectedIndex!=0){parent.body.location=this.options[this.selectedIndex].value;this.selectedIndex=0;}' style="font-size:xx-small;">
<option value= ' '>Go to</option>
<option value='...'>Go to</option>
</select>

Can you do it with:

  1. This go to? Here is the code:

<a href="javascript:void(tP = prompt('Page to go to:',''));if (tP)
location.href=tP" target="body">Go to Page</a>   |

I recap. I want to have the go to function in the pull down menu.

  1. The go to you did for the fixed menu last week. You have the code.

Thanks!

Okay, put that up on the DOW and I'll look into it.

Big John,

Are you religious? (I notice you don't work on Shabbath).

Before you delete a page or a paragraph, can you give me a chance to copy it? (simple courtesy since I have also written on it). I notice you have deleted a big chunk of this page.

Thanks and shalom!

PS: You definitely don't do things like everyone else! You keep the 3 last revisions in Recent Changes? Not a bad idea! We click on the time to get the oldest revision. Another interesting concept!

I also want to ask you. This edit stuff you put on the right of every card on the DOW, can you do it for Eddies Wiki (it is written in C++)?

If you need to copy something I've deleted, you can go to the history page and click on one of the revisions listed before I deleted anything. This wiki has unlimited history, so nothing will ever be permanently deleted.

And no, I'm not religious. I'm an atheist in fact. I'm just getting ready to get back to school, which is why I didn't do anything yesterday (and won't do anything today, most likely).

Atheist? Just like me. Join the club!

Where is the history page on your wiki?

During the school year I hope you will have time to make some projects move but of course priority to your school stuff.

I'll put the pull down go to stuff on the wiki.

Thanks!

Robert.

The history page is what is usually called diffs. When you click on the "x days old" link.

[It seems there is only a record of the stuff added and not the stuff taken out on your diffs.

Will you have time to work on my stuff during the school year? Of so when?

I have been more on Meatball Wiki than on C2 lately. C2 is getting pretty boring.

I keep on trying to make wiki mainstream. I have been experimenting a great concept lately.

Thanks!

John,

I would appreciate if you sent me a quick e-mail letting me know when you did some changes to the DOW.

I am: pnb12@aol.com

This would spare me from going to your wiki and to the DOW many times a day.

Thank you.
